Sister Cities International

Sister Cities International's mission statement is to "promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation -- one individual, one community at a time." It was started as a vision of peace between people... it emerged from the destruction and horror of World War II when the people of this country reached out to former enemies -- Germany and Japan -- and offered a helping hand.

This grassroots effort crystallized into a movement in 1956 when President Eisenhower called for the Summit on Citizen Diplomacy. This created a program designed to promote and create stimulating environments where communities can creatively learn, work, and solve problems together through cultural, educational, professional, and technical exchanges and projects. That program is Sister Cities International. Today, over 50 years later, MissionServ International is a supporter of this movement -- a citizen diplomacy network where ordinary people can do extraordinary things that transform our world under the influence of just one element -- LOVE!

Frederick Sister City Association (FSCA)

MissionServ International fully supports the Frederick Sister City Association (FSCA). FSCA has expanded their "sisterhood" program to include the city of Aquiraz in Brazil. This is a program based on the citizen diplomacy concept of a "people-to-people" effort to build a better world for tomorrow -- together, in celebration of peace and friendship.
