Welcome Message from the Brazil division of FSCA
Frederick's New Sister City -
Aquiraz, Brazil
It is with pleasure that, as the newly appointed Chairperson for the Board of
Directors of the new Frederick Sister City of Aquiraz, Brazil, I welcome you to
get to know and to get involved as much as you can in this new international
venture of citizen diplomacy by which we will be building bridges of goodwill
across our two nations!
Welcome to Aquiraz… the capital of volunteerism in Brazil and learn one more thing in life, and that is that in this process of stepping our of our comfort zones and giving out of ourselves, by participating in goodwill building mission trips, one of the greatest compensations in life happen - and that is that no one can try to help another, without helping oneself!
Welcome to Aquiraz… where, between dunes, palm trees and native vegetation, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of a singular scenery, along its 21 + miles of breathtaking and peaceful white sandy beaches coupled with a blue/green ocean… a scene that impresses everyone that goes there!
Welcome to Aquiraz… a city that can claim that has 365 days of sunshine per year!
Aquiraz is not only about tourism, it is also famous for its over 300 years of history and the tradition of its lace makers and bravery of its fishermen. Aquiraz is a land of hope, is a land of love. Love for art. Love for music. Love for culture. Aquiraz… a land where nature is art!
I transcribe here to you, an
inviting message received from Ritelza Cabral, Mayor of Aquiraz:
"I would like to say that whoever drinks of our waters, will fall in love with
this place! The reason is simple: our people, besides being very hospitable, is
of a contagious simplicity. The breeze that comes from the beaches like Iguape,
Presidio, Prainha, Porto das Dunas, Barro Preto e Batoque, touch our bodies as
if it were welcoming hugs. Our city has history and makes history. Our lace
makers and artisans, fishermen and sailors complement the picture of a land that
is, indeed, blessed. Because of this and much more that Aquiraz is really the
best place in the world for anyone to live and to visit!"
Make plans to visit Aquiraz! Start by navigating on www.acquiraz.ce.gov.br. For more information on how to get involved, please contact us! I am counting on seeing you there someday!
