Visa Information

United States citizens traveling to Brazil must have a visa issued by a Brazilian Consulate. Participants in MissionServ, Volunteer Brazil, and FUNDAMED programs must apply for a tourist visa. Here is a list of what is needed:

*** PLEASE NOTE that forms of payment may vary from consulate to consulate. Payment can generally be made with a company check or money order, made payable to the "Brazilian Embassy". Personal cash and checks are not accepted.

A sample of merchandise and/or equipment taken to Brazil by bearers of TEMPORARY VISAs for a stay of up to 90 days may be temporarily cleared through Brazilian customs upon presentation of a notarized letter legalized by the Brazilian Consular Service listing the merchandise/equipment as necessary for the performance of your assignment. You must declare that this merchandise/equipment will be removed from the country with you when you depart from Brazil.
